One of Hong Kong’s most significant annual charity campaigns – Operation Santa Claus (OSC), jointly organised by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 3 and the South China Morning Post (SCMP), has raised about HK$300 million and has benefited over 280 charities in the past 31 years. A launch ceremony for “Operation Santa Claus 2019”, themed as “From Hong Kong with Love”, was held on 7 November at the HKEX Connect Hall. 13 selected deserving causes that will benefit from this year’s community-wide charity event were also introduced.
Executive Council Convenor Bernard CHAN was invited to be a guest of honour for “Operation Santa Claus 2019” Launch Ceremony along with Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited Charles LI. Director of Broadcasting LEUNG Ka-wing, Editor-in-Chief of SCMP Tammy TAM, OSC 2019 Ambassadors Stephanie AU and Pakho CHAU, jointly officiated at the launch ceremony which marked the start of a series of fundraising events that will be held in November and December. The Ceremony also featured performances by a capella Metro Vocal Group and the Oboe and Cor Anglais Duo 2S.
香港電台第三台及南華早報合辦的年度慈善籌款活動「愛心聖誕大行動」，多年來推動社會各界樂善好施，在過去31年共籌得善款近3億港幣，支援逾280家慈善組織，讓他們獲贈資金擴展社會服務範疇，惠澤更多有需要人士。「愛心聖誕大行動2019」以「點點愛心成就香江」作號召，於今晚（11月7日）假香港金融大會堂揭幕，大會並介紹今年獲選的13間受惠機構。
行政會議召集人陳智思應邀擔任活動主禮嘉賓，並鼓勵大家積極行善，造福社會。活動上，香港交易所執行董事暨集團行政總裁李小加聯同其他嘉賓，包括：廣播處長梁家榮、《南華早報》總編輯譚衛兒、「愛心聖誕大行動2019」大使歐鎧淳及周柏豪一起為活動主持揭幕儀式，冀與各界攜手分享愛心，共襄善舉。揭幕儀式亦意味著由商界機構及學校自行發動的連串籌款項目將於未來兩個月陸續展開。此外，無伴奏合唱組合Metro Vocal Group 、雙簧管及英國管二重奏2S即席表演，場內氣氛溫馨熱鬧。
