Le Hoai-nam First Violin

A founding member of the RTHK Quartet, Le Hoai-nam was born in Hanoi and began studying violin with his father at the age of five. He was accepted by the Hanoi National Conservatory of Music when he was seven and furthered his studies with Michael Ma at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Le has performed extensively in Europe, the United States and Asia and made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2011 with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as a soloist with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Vietnam National Opera Ballet Orchestra, Hanoi Strings Chamber Orchestra and the HKAPA Symphony Orchestra.

Le is also active in playing chamber music. His performances have been broadcast on the Vietnam Television Programmes, Hanoi Radio Station and RTHK.

He was the first Vietnamese to be appointed by Sergiu Comissiona to lead the Asian Youth Orchestra during its tour to the United States, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong in 1999.Currently he is the Second Violin Principal of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and teaches at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

He plays on a violin made by Raffaeleed Antonio Gagliano 1846.
