After threatened policemen stormed the ICAC offices in October 1977, the governor Sir Murray MacLehose (1917-2000) made a statement in Legco and announced a “partial amnesty” on 7 November.

麥理浩爵士在1971年至1982年出任第25任香港總督，是香港歷史上在任時間最長的港督。在任期間，他一手創立專門撲滅貪污罪行的廉政公署（ICAC），打擊當時任總警司葛柏的貪污事件，其後引發警廉衝突，一度令市民擔憂香港治安問題，此段1975年錄音，是麥理浩爵士接受新聞界的訪問。
